![]() ![]() This is a beautiful sparkly pink shadow with gold and silver tiny glitters that you can’t really see in the photo, but its lovely in person. I’ll start off with eye products – there’s SEVEN in here! I’ll put the individual photos first and I swatched everything together at the end □įirst, there’s a loose eyeshadow – BareMinerals Glimpse Eyeshadow in Cupcake – which is a full sized item!! It retails for $15. In a strange coincidence, I had actually just purchased a lip cream from Buxom right before I received this that was not part of the set, but I’m including it in this post because I love it and want to talk about it lol Anyway, I was so excited to receive this box because I’ve tried very few products from either of these brands, so I got a chance to try some new things. And finally, what works for me may not work for you, and vice versa.Today I have a review of something really cool that I got for Christmas – a massive gift set of BareMinerals and Buxom products!! I didn’t really know what to call this post, because this set doesn’t really have a name, but I wanted to write about it anyway □ My mom is really good at getting sets like this for a great price – this one contains 14 products!!!Īlso I had no idea that these two brands had the same parent company but here we are. I think the brand did a great job. There was no sliding off the face here! Overall, it lasted. It held on elsewhere where I applied it more sparingly. The coverage got a bit better midday when the natural oils of my skin released and I didn’t see much fading across the face. CLAIM: “wears throughout the day without settling into fine lines” From far away, it looked evened-out and natural, but up close and in natural light, my skin had texture that wasn’t very flattering. At the end of the day, finish was better than OK, but not great for my skin. Keep in mind, this could be a huge plus for oily skin types! I needed to seriously hydrate prior to pressing this on top if I was planning on covering larger surface areas. I realized after the first couple of tries, one quick swipe of a light moisturizer as the base left my skin looking a little flat (skin didn’t look like moisturized skin), especially in natural light. Spot treatment (small edits the brand refers to) looked more natural than when applying all over. When I’d build, things started to settle oddly, crease a bit under eye, and sit on top of my skin on cheeks/forehead. One layer gave lighter coverage and as a result, also gave more of a natural finish. Spot treatment was also looking good here. CLAIM: “all-over coverage, so you can make small edits only where you need them” To get a better coverage for my skin, I preferred using one layer as strategic, complexion spot treatment over tinted spf. ![]() It was super silky upon application and glided on top of my skin. CLAIM: “buildable light-to-medium coverage.” I could build it up and would absolutely say it followed through on the light-to-medium coverage claim. I’m not a cosmetic chemist, but after testing hundreds of products and going down way too many ingredient rabbit holes on the interwebs, this is what I’m thinking. ![]() I saw a bunch of emollient/occlusives for moisturizing along with many waxes which I think help hold the shape of the product and preserve stability. Dimethicone breaks me out, so I’m not a fan personally, but it could be fine for you! It’s a “preservative and antioxidant” used to “stabilize and prevent oxidation.” BHT gets a bad rap, but I’m not concerned about it, especially when it’s at the end of the list. ![]()
